• The incorrect username and password combination was entered.

  • Check to ensure that you are using the correct username. It's more common than you think for user's to login with an invalid username. Not sure what your username is or if you have an account? • Username is correct, password is not.

  • This is perhaps the most commonly encountered issue. Its very common for users to type in the incorrect password associated with their account. It is highly recommended that after 2-3 login attempts users use the "Forgot Password" link to reset their password. This is because after 5 attempts the user's account will be locked preventing them from logging in at all until the account is unlocked. If your account is locked or you are not sure if it is please see the next section.

• Your account is locked due to 5+ incorrect login attempts

  • Account lockout's are the result of 5+ invalid login attempts. While they are inconvenient they are a necessary security feature to ensure the safety of all users. Meridian alerts the user when their account is locked via an email indicating so. Be sure to check you "Junk" and "Clutter" folders to see if you have received such an email. If you're account is locked there are 2 methods available to unlock it.

    • Method 1: Answer Security Questions (preferred)
      • When you're account is locked you will receive an email indicating so (make sure to check you "Junk" and "Clutter" boxes for the email as well as your standard inbox) which will also contain a link to answer the security questions you created when you logged in for the first time. If you answer your security questions correctly you're account will be unlocked (you will also receive an email indicating that the process was successful). Once you receive this email you are free to reset your password via the "Forgot Password" link and login. Please note that if you are successful in unlocking your account you are required to change your password via the "Forgot Password" link again for security purposes.
    • Method 2: Submit Meridian Incident Request Form

      • Don't remember your security questions? Submit an incident form via the link below to have you're account unlocked. Please note that this method is subjected to a 5 day SLA and may not be completed as quickly as needed. It is highly recommended to use the security questions method described above.

• Your password has expired (Passwords expire after 90 days)

  • Meridian passwords expire after 90 days. If you try logging in and you are unable to login but are fairly certain that you entered your username and password correctly there is a good chance that your password has expired. Check you inbox ("Junk" and "Clutter" folders included) for an email indicating so. If your password has expired simply click the "Forgot Password" link and reset it. Your new password should be valid for another 90 days. It is good practice to change your password after 2-3 invalid login attempts to prevent account lockout. A fairly common occurance is a user who is unaware that their password has expired tries to login 5 times with the expired password only to find their account locked after the fifth attempt with the expired password. This is a very common source of account lockouts. We hgihly recommend resetting your password after 2-3 invalid login attempts to reduce the risk of account lockout due to incorrect and expired passwords.
